Tutoring Experience
I have experience teaching a variety of ages in diverse settings. My first experience tutoring was in high school, where I helped out in an ESL classroom. I was also a Peer Educator for the Mental and Emotional Education Team (MEET) at my high school, which gave me more experience in a classroom setting. In university I both interned and worked at the Student Farm, which gave me experience working in an outdoor classroom setting. We hosted tours for local elementary students, teaching them about gardening, insects, plants, and the environment. As I Lead Student Farmer, I was a mentor to peer interns in gardening and sustainable agriculture activities, emphasizing inclusion and experiential learning. Finally, my internship with the BETA Lab at UC Davis gave me further experience mentoring students in a classroom setting, and working one-on-one with students as they completed individual robotics projects.
