Sona Shah is the CEO & Founder of My Private Professor (MPP), an innovative platform that aims to provide all students with access to the individualized support they need to succeed in school & beyond. From a young age, education & philanthropy have been important pillars in Sona’s life. She started tutoring her neighborhood peers in 5th grade, & continued to tutor throughout her academic career.

After graduating from UC Berkeley School of Law & practicing business litigation for a number of years, Sona returned to something that truly fulfilled her: tutoring. As demand for her tutoring services grew, she founded My Private Professor with a mission to provide affordable, top-notch, individualized tutoring to students of all ages & backgrounds.

In alignment with Sona’s values, MPP earmarks a portion of every tutoring hour to support educational opportunities in the community. By doing so, MPP maximizes its impact of helping all students achieve & succeed while providing the highest caliber of tutoring to their clients. Sona is grateful to have over a decade of leadership experience on the boards of nonprofits in Southern California & currently serves as President of Tustin Public Schools Foundation, Board Member of Orangewood Foundation, & Founder of Inspire Philanthropy Fund. Through her leadership at MPP & in the community, Sona is determined to do what she can to inspire & empower others to achieve their greatest potential & lead tomorrow’s world.
