About Me

Hello! My name is Sarine and I am originally from DC but moved to California about 5 years ago now. I love cinema, watching it, talking about it, writing about it, which is why I am at UCSB studying Film! Also, growing up in an international household with a French-speaking dad and an Armenian-speaking mom, I have always been interested in multiculturalism and multilingualism which is why I am also a Global Studies major! I think learning another language, or even perfecting one you already speak is an incredible skill which helps you throughout your whole life, in continuously new and great ways!

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience

Proudly a part of Camp Kesem in Santa Barbara! We work to help kids, in any way we can, cope with a parent's cancer by organizing a free summer camp and other fundraisers throughout the year! I also introduced the club Girl Up, a UN Foundation Campaign, into my high school where we kickstarted conversation about women and the global challenges they face, writing about it in our journal to encourage further engagement! We unfortunately never fundraised as Covid disrupted our plans.
