About Me

Hello! My name is Anne, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be your tutor. I have a genuine passion for tutoring because I
believe in the power of education to transform lives and unlock endless opportunities.
One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring for me is seeing the moment when a concept clicks for a student and they
experience that “aha” moment. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be a part of their journey to academic success and personal growth.
Having been on the other side of the tutor-student relationship, I understand firsthand the impact that a dedicated tutor can have. I
remember meeting with tutors when I was studying languages, and how their guidance and support not only helped me grasp
difficult concepts, but also inspired me to connect with others by speaking another language. It was a transformative experience
that I carry with me to this day, and it’s what motivates me to provide the same level of support and inspiration to my students.
Outside of tutoring, I have a variety of hobbies and interests that keep me busy. I am an avid reader and love diving into books on
a wide range of topics, from memoirs, to novels, to history. I also enjoy exploring the great outdoors through hiking and swimming
at the beach. Nature has always been a source of inspiration and relaxation for me, and I love sharing that passion with others.

Overall, I am dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued,
empowered, and inspired to reach their full potential. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your academic
goals!

Tutoring Experience

During my time in college, I had the opportunity to serve as a mentor for fellow students in various classes and academic settings. As a mentor, my role was to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help my peers navigate the challenges of their coursework and achieve their academic goals. I took great pride in helping my mentees develop effective study strategies, refine their writing and analytical skills, and build confidence in their abilities. Whether it was reviewing course materials, brainstorming ideas for assignments, or offering feedback on their work, I was dedicated to ensuring that my mentees had the tools and resources they needed to succeed. In addition to academic support, I also served as a mentor and advocate for my mentees, offering a listening ear and providing advice on personal and professional development. I believe that mentoring is not just about helping students

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience

As a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies at UVA, I am deeply passionate about education and making a positive impact on the lives of others. While my formal volunteering experiences may be limited, I am dedicated to contributing to my community in meaningful ways. One avenue through which I actively support charitable causes is by regularly giving to various charities and organizations.
