More About Me
I am dedicated to helping students succeed in their reading and writing skills. When I was in high school, my poetry teacher approached the subject with enthusiasm and an encouraging attitude. I feel lucky that his example allowed me to discover my love for writing and I hope to assist other students in finding joy and meaning in writing as well. I love poetry, cooking, taking walks in the park and music. |

I graduated from Kenyon college in 2016 with a 3.7 GPA, magna cum laude. I was the recipient of the 2015 Academy of American poets award at Kenyon, and my award winning poem is featured on the Academy's website. During my time at Kenyon I also served as the programming director for the on-campus radio station WKCO. I was also a member of the Peer Counselors, a trained group of students dedicated to responding to mental health crises on campus. I am currently enrolled in NYU's MFA program where I maintain a 4.0 GPA.
Tutoring Experience
After graduation from Kenyon, I taught high school English classes at the Denver Waldorf High School in the 2017-2018 school year. These courses included creative writing and an introduction to folktales. I loved creating enthusiastic and inclusive learning environments. While applying to Kenyon, and subsequently to graduate school, I worked with a private college counselor. My experience working with her was incredibly positive and sparked an interest in helping other young people succeed.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
During my time as an undergraduate student, I served as a member of the Peer Counselors, a group dedicated to providing mental health resources on campus. We were a group of volunteers, offering office hours for one on one counseling, a 24/7 telephone hotline, and programming like open mic nights and concerts. We worked diligently with the counseling center on campus to connect students with the resources they needed to assist with their mental health.
