About Me
When I was growing up, I absolutely hated math. My math classes were either too easy or so difficult I would be too stressed out to appreciate what I was learning. In addition, I didn’t even have a female math teacher until my senior year of high school. However, despite this, in high school I enrolled in an advanced calculus class, and I started meeting with a tutor outside of classes. This tutor showed me that math doesn’t have to be stressful, and that instead every problem can be viewed as a fun puzzle I have yet to crack. I began to love math so much I decided to pursue a career in it. Now, as a college student, I want to share this love and passion with other students who may feel the same as I did. I love helping others discover the joy of mathematics and all it’s wonderful applications. When I’m not doing my math homework, I’m probably either doing research on Artificial Intelligence or going to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes!

Academic Accolades
I have a 3.95 GPA and got a 780 on the math section of the SAT. I work on campus at Smith College as a teaching assistant for Professor Ileana Vasu and as a math tutor at the Spinelli center. I am the president of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team at Smith College and teach Self Defense classes twice per week. I am also a 5-time recipient of the San Francisco Community Music Center merit scholarship for Violin.
Tutoring Experience
I work at Smith College as both a teaching assistant and a Spinelli Center Tutor. As a teaching assistant, I help students taking Discrete Mathematics with their proof writing skills as well as help them with homework problems. As a Spinelli Center Tutor, I hold walk-in hours for all students who may have questions pertaining to math. In both these jobs, I get to help students navigate different fields of mathematics and find unique solutions that they are able to understand.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
In high school I regularly volunteered in my old second grade classroom 5 hours per week at Grattan Elementary School and helped students with math, reading and writing.
