More About Me

I’ve always really loved teaching, especially when it comes to subjects that I’m passionate about and good at. Throughout high school I would always work really hard in my classes, in the hopes that people would see me as one of the “smart kids”. I wasn’t sure why I cared so much for a while, until I realized that it was because people would ask the smart kids for help, and I wanted to do that. I love being able to help people out academically because there’s something that feels very right about it. If I have the knowledge and the ability to help, it’s really the only fair thing to do.

Tutoring Experience

Tutored other high school students of all ages, helping them with homework, interpreting notes, and understanding the lectures, for chemistry, biology, calculus, algebra, English, history, ACT preparation, and physics. I also helped to grade papers and help students who need help as a TA of sorts in Pre-Calculus and Calculus, and tutored middle and elementary students on nearly all subjects throughout high school.

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience

I have extensive experience volunteering for Operation Christmas Child, a program run through Samaritan's Purse which sends shoeboxes of gifs as Christmas presents to children in less fortunate countries. I've worked at my local food pantry for three years, along with taking trips into larger cities and helping out with projects there. I volunteered at my church's AWANA every Wednesday throughout middle and high school. I volunteered extensively during a two-week long missions trip to Kansas City. This winter a group I was with went door to door and handed out boxes of canned foods, festive snacks and winter supplies.
