More About Me

I love tutoring students in math because I enjoy being able to take difficult topics and break them down to where it is easy to understand. There were many math lectures where I would feel very lost and needed extra help understanding or grasping concepts but was too scared to reach out to a teacher or professor. I want to be the extra help that a student feels comfortable enough to ask questions and for assistance. Some of my hobbies & interests are photography and weightlifting. I also like traveling, and there are still so many places I have yet to see.

Tutoring Experience

In 2016-2017, I tutored students from K-6th for various topics including math, science and English. This included reaching out to teachers for extra worksheets in subjects the student was struggling with and making sure my teachings aligned with their methods. Also, on several occasions, I would tutor multiple students at once from the same grade on the same topic. In 2019-2020, I tutored 10th graders in Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus both online and in-person. I also assisted managing and controlling the classroom environment while in person. I ensured a productive working environment and catered to different learning types for maximum understanding.

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience

I have volunteered at Villa Scalabrini Nursing Home and helped the elderly in their weekly bingo sessions. I have also volunteered at AHEAD with horses which is a nonprofit organization for children with special needs. At AHEAD with Horses, I maintained a friendly and inclusive environment for the children along with maintaining the cleanliness of the stables and horses. At my local church, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, I would assist in packaging for the weekly food drives for low income families and homeless people as well as the toy drive for children during Christmas and Thanksgiving meals for immigrant workers. For the toy drive and Thanksgiving meal drive, I would either donate toys for children (picked at random from a Christmas tree) and would also donate nonperishable foods or other necessities. Also at this church, I would volunteer in the booths during the yearly church fairs and assist in the clean up after the fairs.
