All you have to do is show up!
A little more about me is that I am 20 years old and from New Jersey. I love baking, journalism, and child care. I hope to be an elementary education teacher when I graduate from the University of Miami in 2 years. I’m so excited for anyone who chooses to tutor with me, and I promise to make it worth your while!

Bachelor of Science in Elementary/Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with ESOL and Reading Endorsements/ Bachelor of Arts in English
As a student studying English and Elementary Education, I have a passion for both language arts and teaching. I furthermore believe several classes that I’ve taken have prepared me for English-Language Arts tutoring. I’ve had the opportunity, for instance, to do 1-1 peer English tutoring at Elementary schools in the Coral Gables area. This tutoring, which has utilized direct instruction and phonics teaching strategies, has been extensively organized and prepared. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from some highly regarded researchers in English-Language Arts teaching, and I’d be eager to apply the knowledge I’ve learned from my prior teaching experiences. Additionally, in itself I am passionate about English-Language Arts, and it is probably my favorite subject to teach. Reading and writing is truly a passion of mine, and I understand the importance of English development in students. Having strong skills in reading and writing will not only give students the tools they need to succeed in the classroom, but it will give them the confidence they need to flourish as individuals.
I am currently a student at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. Again, I am working towards achieving my B.S.E.D. in Elementary/Exceptional Student Education (ESE) with ESOL and Reading Endorsements and a B.A. in English. I chose my university carefully as the program allows for consistent field experience. I've furthermore visited various public schools in the Coral Gables area. I've done 1-1 Math tutoring, 1-1 English tutoring, and I've been visiting general education classrooms this semester three times a week in 2 hour periods. During this time, I assist with classroom instruction and help my mentor teacher with managing the class.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
Although I've done limited volunteering during my time in college, I've been actively visiting local Coral Gables public schools as much as possible. These visits do not count towards any school credits or volunteer hours. They are furthermore simply for the experience but have taken up the majority of my time when I'm not in class.
