More About Me
I love to tutor because I love education! I think learning is fun and exciting and I love it when I can impart some of those feelings to others. Other than tutoring I love reading and writing cause I’m a nerd, but pre-corona I also loved dancing (especially bachata and tango). And I love seeing pretty sunsets after nice hikes with friends, and playing with my dog, and cooking and baking lots of tasty things for afterwords. I also love watching Tasty videos on Facebook for hours at a time.

I have a wide range of experiences with tutoring. I worked at the Boys and Girls Club tutoring high school students on their course work, and also worked with younger children in elementary school on weekends. I also worked at Hope House, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for women, most of whom have been recently incarcerated. Professors from Stanford taught classes there and I crafted lesson plans and helped the women with their assignments in subjects including Creative Writing, Philosophy, and Sociology. I also tutored in Cape Town with an online college program for migrants and refugees at Scalabrini Center. I was also a Course Assistant for a class at Stanford under Professor Amy Freed. I've also done some college advising through Stanford for disadvantaged youth.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
Most of my volunteering has involved tutoring. I think education is one of the most important ways to empower people.
