More About Me
My hobbies include tennis, biking, running, and Spanish dance classes.
I want to tutor because I have enjoyed working with others and sharing my passion and interests like tennis, biology, and Latin with them. Over the past years in the various teaching roles I have assumed I have enjoyed the challenge and fun of trying various ways to make a topic “click” for my students. Most importantly of all, as I review and relearn material I had first learned in high school, I still remember the lessons and impressions left on me by wonderful, inspiring teachers from the past. I hope to leave the same marks in my tutees when they revisit the same subjects and skills they will use in the future.

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
For four semesters at Columbia I worked as a volunteer Latin teacher for the Pegasus Project, a nonprofit dedicated to improve literacy, test scores, and overall appreciation for education in underserved areas. As a Gift of Life volunteer, I worked to help set up and run bone marrow registry drives around Columbia campus and the New York City area. I volunteered as a member of the Terence Cardinal Cooke (TCC) Club at Columbia during my four years at Columbia. Every week we would converse and provide support to residential patients, often addressing patient distress. As an executive member during the last 3 years I helped run orientations and club meetings to address issues in medicine and the experiences of volunteers new and old.
