More About Me
I am passionate about teaching and education. My favorite part of teaching is developing personal relationships with my students and figuring out the best way I can help them, as individuals, learn. While it is a necessary challenge to figure out how to do this with an entire class of students, it is a fun indulgence for me to work with students individually because I get to give all my attention to understanding how they learn and developing an approach to teaching that is perfectly suited for them. I love to have fun with my students and to make class or tutoring something they look forward to, as well as something that leaves them feeling confident, empowered, and productive. I look forward to meeting and working with new students this fall because I feel I learn a lot from each kid I teach, and while I help them, they help me on my journey to becoming the best educator I can be.
I am an aspiring educator with lots of experience teaching in a variety of settings and contexts. I especially enjoy teaching writing, and I’ve done training for this through Breakthrough Collaborative, where I have been a Teaching Fellow and Teaching Assistant, as well as a High School Application mentor. I have spent a lot of time reading and thinking about pedagogical theory, and I enjoy implementing the things I’ve learned when teaching or tutoring. I am looking forward to getting to know new students through My Private Professor who I can build relationships with while working towards academic goals.

Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
I tutor at EduMate for free. The organization was created at the beginning of the pandemic in the US to help support NYC public school students who were struggling with the transition to online learning and couldn't afford private tutors. The Weekly Writing Workshop I run is also all volunteer, it is in partnership with a community based grassroots non-profit called UnCommon Good, that does work in health, education, and other areas to support low income families in the Pomona Valley area.
