More About Me
I love tutoring because I want to help students develop a fascination for the material they are learning. Just like any story can become interesting depending on whose narrating, I also want students to develop a fascination for and interest in the material they are learning. I have been tutoring and mentoring students for more than 10 years, trying my best to help them succeed by developing their strengths and weaknesses.
In my free time, I like to paint, read, watch TV shows, and DIY pillows by hand. Some of my favorite shows include White Collar, Castle, Friends, and – of course – Avatar the Last Airbender. And my favorite book in the whole world is “The Count of Monte Cristo”.

I have extensive experience working with students in grades K-12, as both a tutor and mentor. All four years as an undergraduate student, I taught weekly workshops focused on healthcare to high school freshmen in under resourced high schools throughout NYC. I have also tutored students in SAT and ACT, specifically the math and science portions. As a summer camp assistant, I worked with children ages 2-14 years, assisting the teachers with classroom management, childcare, and activity planning. Therefore, I understand that working young students takes patience, understanding, and flexibility.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
Throughout high school and college, I volunteered at and provided care to patients at various hospitals, including Langone Hospital, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital and Brooklyn Methodist. Ultimately, my passion for science and my experiences working with patients are what led me to pursue a career as a medical professional. As an undergraduate student, I also fed, cleaned, and provided care to abandoned cats at the KittyKing shelter. As my first animal welfare related service commitment, I started by observing others as they calmed the kittens before I also learned to handle the kittens gently and provide appropriate care. I find joy and personal fulfillment in providing companionship to individuals/animals in need.
