More About Me
Greetings! My name is Abigail and I am here to bring you a comfortable learning experience. I am a second-year at the University of Virginia studying Cognitive Science on the Pre-Health track.
I feel I am best equipped to tutor elementary students in Reading/English skills and high school students in Algebra. I also enjoy writing, grammar, and chemistry. I like to tutor because it is how I feel I am best able to help others. I know what it’s like to struggle in class and have limited resources available. As much as I like tutoring, I also like mentoring. I want to establish a wholesome academic and human experience for kids who might feel like they don’t have anywhere else to go.
In addition to my academic endeavors, I play a variety of instruments and also enjoy recreational volleyball.

Tutoring Experience
I have experience tutoring high school students in Algebra II and elementary school students in Reading and Math. I have also been a volunteer Guest Reader for elementary students.
Philanthropy / Volunteering Experience
Growing up in a poorer area, I have seen families who lack sufficient resources to take care of their families. An organization by the name of Mary's Corner aims to provide for families with young children. At Mary's Corner I was able to aid both other volunteers and families by organizing and playing with the kids, respectively. Similarly, I have worked at a soup kitchen in a nearby city. I have also helped host fundraisers and social events for peers at school, like the fundraiser held for Computers4Kids by UVA QuestBridge.
