At My Private Professor, we are dedicated to supporting as many students as possible. We recognize that students experiencing homelessness face barriers when it comes to accessible, quality, educational resources.

We are thus committed to earmarking a portion of the net proceeds from each tutoring hour toward tutoring grants for students experiencing homelessness so that they can get the academic support they need & deserve.

To be considered for an MPP Tutoring Grant, a student must be classified under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act. This act protects any student who is living under any of the following conditions:

  • Living in a shelter (family, youth, or domestic violence shelter or transitional living program)
  • Living in a motel, hotel, or weekly rate housing
  • Living in a house or apartment with more than one family because of economic hardship or loss
  • Living in an abandoned building, in a car, at a campground, or on the street
  • Living in substandard housing (without electricity, heat or water)
  • Living with friends or family because they are a runaway or unaccompanied youth
  • Awaiting foster care placement

Please note:

  • Our tutoring grants are reserved for students experiencing homelessness.
  • Grants are not guaranteed & will be awarded on a per-case basis & based on funds available.
  • Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
  • Our tutoring grants are not guaranteed in perpetuity, & we reserve the right to revoke an MPP Tutoring Grant at any time.
